Dave was one of my first supervisors when I joined Schindler, and I was blessed to have worked for him at that time. And in the many years since we worked together directly, he always made a point to stop and talk to me whenever he was around.
Rarely have I met a more positive and energetic person than Dave, and his enthusiasm has been an inspiration.
God Bless his family in this time of loss. Our prayers are with you.

I was so sorry to hear of Dave Cook's death. Although I didn't have the pleasure to work with him directly as long as some did, it still was enough to benefit from his inspiring personality and will always remember his unmatched positive attitude and how well he was able to get people to work together. I hope your memories of him will be some comfort to you. Please accept my sympathy on the sad loss.
Sincerely,
David Monteiro

Dave was a great friend and a wonderful person. He was always upbeat and eager to help those around him. We started working the same year at Schindler and I had the great fortune of working closely with him on many different projects over the years. I am saddened to see the Lord take him from his family but know that he is smiling down upon us all and his spirit lives in the many lives he touched. Condolences to Dory and the family, please take solace in the positive way in which he impacted so many of our lives.

I knew Dave professionally during my career at Schindler Elevator and personally for almost my entire life. He helped me start my career at Schindler and served as a mentor. Despite his busy schedule he always had time to talk. He continued to act as a mentor and friend in the years after I left Schindler. Anyone meeting Dave for the first time might have thought that his positive nature was a façade, that could not possibly be how Dave was all the time, but that was just Dave. His limitless energy and positive demeanor will be missed. I could not have asked for a better friend.
I will miss his words of encouragement and guidance.
My heartfelt condolences go out to the Cook Family.

Joyful - Useful - Beautiful --- These are the words Dave taught me to use in my day to day life. It sounds simple, but it really helps me a lot. I have known Dave from the days of Westinghouse and most recently had the privilege of working with him everyday since he moved back to NJ. He will forever hold a special place in my heart. He has taught a good many of us how to be better people with his optomistic personality and loving ways. For this we are forever indebted to him.
God Bless you Dave and may the Lord give your family the strength to carry on.

I will always have the great memories of all the times spent together especially the most recent while up at the cabin playing horse shoes and taking Dave tubing. The enthusiasm Dave shared will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this extremely difficult time.

I'm at a loss for what to say. Dave gave me my start at Schindler, hiring me as an intern in Gettysburg a decade ago. He was integral in my career in so many ways and I'll forever be thankful to him. What a great coworker and what a great person. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time. May the memories of what a great person he was provide solace and carry them through the difficult times ahead.

I pray for Dave's family and friends in the times to come. The earth has lost an angel who has left us a legacy of kindness and optimism. I've worked with Dave since he started with our company, and he was always positive and upbeat. He never had a negative word to say about anything or anyone, and he always remembered to ask about my family. He is with us in spirit and we are all better people having known him. God bless.

I was very saddened to hear of Dave's passing, but consider myself blessed in having known him. In the years that I've known and worked with him since he started with Westinghouse and Schindler, Dave was such a kind person who was always can-do and upbeat. He was a hands on type of guy when it came to his job who wanted to make a difference. With never an unkind word or complaint about anyone or anything, Dave was well aware of what was truly important in life. His love for his family was always evident, and I remember him telling me about his daughters' achievements with great pride.
My sincerest condolences to Dory and family, and hoping for a speedy recovery for Katie and her husband. Dave will surely be missed by all that knew and loved him.

When a life is cut short so abruptly, it reminds us all that we need to live our lives to the fullest every day and be the best spouse, parent, and friend we can possibly be. All who knew Dave know that his legacy is all those things. I had the pleasure of working in the office next door to Dave for many years. I will always remember the first time I heard him end a phone conversation by saying "Love you, Buddy". I thought he was talking to a son but later found out he was speaking to one of his daughters. I thought that was the coolest thing and it still makes me smile. The world is a dimmer place without his light.

As a Schindler employee & for a short time, Dave's employee, I remember Dave's passion for life & care for people. He gave seemingly boundless energy to everthing he did & those who knew him. Dave's "can do" attitude & zeal brought out the best in those around him. We miss him already.

Dory & Family,
I remain at a loss on what to say during this tragic time.
We're all blessed to have known Dave and I feel honored to have been considered one of his friends. Dave was the most professional, positive and responsive co-workers I've ever known and truly defined what it meant to be work together as "partners". I was very fortunate to have worked on several teams with Dave and fondly remember playing pool in your Gettysburg basement after a long day of meetings.
My thoughts and prayers remain with you during this difficult time.

Dave was the first person from Gettysburg I ever knew after joining Schindler. I worked with him quite a bit, and always looked forward to any involvement with Dave. He was the most upbeat and just plain friendly guy you could ever meet. His passing has affeted us all here in Holland, OH and we will miss our friend. God bless you and the family, Dave.

Dick and I are so sorry to read today in the Gettysburg Times of Dave's passing. He was a wonderful next door neighbor, one who loved working on his boat in the driveway. We pray that God will provide comfort and strength to you and your family. Our deepest condolences.
